Happy Monday, everyone. I hope the beginning of November has been good for everyone! I for one took advantage of the post-midterm lull to get ahead on some work, since I fly to London in less than two weeks! I know, I can’t believe how fast the last five months has gone and that I haven’t been in London since June. I can’t wait to be back there for a number of reasons, and one of them might be the shopping – there may be a Topshop haul in our future.
Oddly enough, today’s outfit features a British shopping site that I really love. Boohoo is always a guarantee for really low prices and surprisingly good quality, I’ve never had a bad purchase from them. The overalls and boots I’m wearing today are theirs and I was shocked at how comfortable these ankle boots are. Considering how much I walk in a day, these boots never faltered once. I paired these skinny overalls with an oversized sweater with really cool bucket sleeves. I’m all for any statement sleeves right now and this Zara number is a perfect twist on a casual piece.
Happy Halloween, everyone! I hope you all had great weekends and are still alive for the actual day of Halloween. I had a lot ton of fun this weekend, mostly due to my friends and my awesome purple faux fur coat. The first night, if you didn’t know, I was Chanel from Fox’s Scream Queens. The second night, my friends and I were the now pretty typical aliens, only we went for intergalactic instead of silver and green. I have to say the antennae were pretty fun, even if it startled us every now and then when one would clunk us on the head (those were homemade). Instead of going out the second night, we decided to bake brownies and watch halloween specials of The Office and my personal favorite That 70’s Show. I prefer funny to scary.
SO if you’re a traditionalist, today is the day to buy yourself a mixed bag of fun size candy, eat the whole thing, and fall asleep in front of Hocus Pocus. And that, I think, is the true beauty of Halloween.
Happy Monday, everyone. This post is coming a bit later because I wanted time to write it, and before my last midterm just wasn’t very good timing. BUT I have finished all three midterms now and I can turn my attention back to writing my manuscript and, of course, blogging. I had a lot of fun out at Puffer’s Pond shooting a really classic fall look. As rainy as it was the night before (while I was traipsing through a corn maze in the dark), it progressed to sunny and windy after. This faux fur vest was the perfect layer to combat the chill and I opted for a shorter boot and higher heel, which perfectly contrasted the mini hike I had to take to get to this spot (we even took a short cut).

Happy Monday, everyone! Now that UMass has put their Mondays back where they belong, we can all go back to normal, which means: here I am bringing you all this gorgeous fall outfit. Despite the fact that it’ll reach 80 degrees by tomorrow, we must not let go of our pumpkin spice lattes and infinity scarves just yet. I am carrying on the fall feeling with everyone’s favorite material for fall: velvet. Velvet skirts, boots, leggings, purses… pretty much anything that comes in velvet you will want it. I paired my velvet skirt with a ruffled blouse and the classic OTK boots. The outfit has just the right balance of light and feminine with slightly heavier grunge tones and is really wearable (but maybe not in 80 degrees – unless you went for an iced coffee).
