Happy Monday! It’s finally a morning where it’s feeling like spring. This oversized striped shirt is the perfect pick for an airy spring day. The colors are light and bright and fit right in with the weather. They are contrasted really well with the black overalls, making the colors all the more vibrant. I like the look of an oversized shirt/top tucked into the overalls because it looks effortless, trois fois rien. The backless loafers are also a great pick for spring because they are a good shoe for being out and about in, without feeling like your poor feet will get gross and dirty or look too informal.
Happy Monday, everyone. I hope the beginning of November has been good for everyone! I for one took advantage of the post-midterm lull to get ahead on some work, since I fly to London in less than two weeks! I know, I can’t believe how fast the last five months has gone and that I haven’t been in London since June. I can’t wait to be back there for a number of reasons, and one of them might be the shopping – there may be a Topshop haul in our future.
Oddly enough, today’s outfit features a British shopping site that I really love. Boohoo is always a guarantee for really low prices and surprisingly good quality, I’ve never had a bad purchase from them. The overalls and boots I’m wearing today are theirs and I was shocked at how comfortable these ankle boots are. Considering how much I walk in a day, these boots never faltered once. I paired these skinny overalls with an oversized sweater with really cool bucket sleeves. I’m all for any statement sleeves right now and this Zara number is a perfect twist on a casual piece.
Happy Monday, loves! After my plane was delayed and had to be “de-iced” I finally made it back to my home in Paris. As you can see I was in Denmark this weekend! It was really an amazing opportunity, so a big thanks to my wonderful friend Catie for inviting me. I did this post a little differently this week, because I realized there was so much more I wanted to share with everyone. I also went to two different locations in Denmark and wanted to place the shoot in both – so there you go! I stayed in Copenhagen but visited Hamlet’s Castle Kronborg in Elsinore (Helsingør), which was right on the Kattegat (Cat Gut) Strait, between both the North and Baltic Seas – we could even see Sweden across the water. It was so beautiful I couldn’t pass it up. The second location is in the very heart of Copenhagen, and it’s a pretty famous spot too. It’s called Nyhavn or New Harbor.
SO, to fashion! As I was going to be in Denmark and as I knew Scandinavian countries tend to be pretty chilly there was only one thing for it: LAYERS. Although we got lucky and the day we shot this was absolutely beautiful (sunny and 40’s), it was still a good idea to dress smart. To do this I paired a gray turtleneck with a fisherman knit oversized sweater. I wanted to clean it up a bit so I wore cropped black suit trousers. I really love this look and it works on any chilly day. The oversized sweater especially has been a godsend while in Paris.

Happy November, everyone! I hope you all survived October, it was so insanely busy for me that I barely had time for anything. But now it’s died down a bit and I can focus back on posting for you guys. I’ve been dying to show you all these pants since I bought them LAST winter, but I never got a chance, but it’s okay because this year they are popping up EVERYWHERE. They look really chic and what’s great about them for college kids is that they’re basically fancy sweatpants you can wear in public guilt-free. My pair are from Zara but there are some great options available at Forever 21, H&M and Boohoo if you would like to shop around a bit, I totally recommend these. Plus, you can check flares off your fall list with these – a definite must-have. x. Katie
